Ontario Tech is dedicated to the use of collaborative open practices to encourage access and reduce barriers to excellent post-secondary education. The Open Education Award recognizes those in the Ontario Tech community who act by contributing, attributing, releasing, and empowering the use of open educational practices throughout our campuses and beyond.
Eligibility
Any Ontario Tech community member, including faculty, instructors, staff, and students. Award nominees must have worked with students in the 2025 calendar year. This includes the Winter 2025, Spring-Summer 2025, and Fall 2025 semesters.The award is also open to groups of any number, providing all nominees meet the eligibility requirements listed previously.
Nomination
Nominations may be submitted by any faculty or staff member or student at Ontario Tech. Self-nominations are also permitted.Nominations must be completed no later than 4:30 p.m. on February 27, 2026.
