Eligibility
1. Pre-requisite Criteria:
Participation in the GBS ASEAN Awards 2025 is open to a wide range of industry players:
- Companies and public-sector organizations registered and operating either within or outside Malaysia , regardless of ownership structure, are welcome to participate.
- Individuals must be formally employed by an organization that is legally registered in Malaysia.
2. Eligibility Criteria
To uphold global standards and ensure the awards reflect real-world business practices, all entries must meet the following key criteria:
- Submissions must be based on engagements that are legally binding contracts, reflecting a formal business arrangement.
- Eligible engagements must represent a business-to-business (B2B) relationship. Business-to-consumer (B2C) interactions do not fall within the award scope.
- The engagement must showcase the use of technology-enabled knowledge workers, highlighting the strategic role of human capital in delivering services.
- Each engagement must be governed by clearly defined and mutually agreed Service Level Agreements (SLAs), demonstrating commitment to performance standards and outcomes.

Entry Guidelines – Eligibility & Submission Process
To ensure a smooth and successful application process, kindly adhere to the following guidelines:
- Eligibility: All companies and individuals registered and conducting business within and outside Malaysia are welcome to participate.
- Submission Requirements: To be considered, nominations must be complete. Please ensure all required fields marked with an asterisk (*) on the submission form are filled out.
- Supporting Documentation: Strengthen your nomination by including relevant documentation that substantiates your achievements.
- Additional Materials: Feel free to attach additional documents (up to 20MB) to provide further details about your accomplishments.
- Transparency: We encourage clear and concise communication. Confidential language such as ‘Private & Confidential” and etc. should be avoided. If a section is not applicable to your submission, simply state "Not Undertaken."
- Selection Process: A multi-tiered judging process ensures a fair and rigorous evaluation, recognizing the most deserving entries. Individual category finalists will be selected through an online judging process whilst finalists in corporate categories will be invited to participate in a physical presentation to further elaborate on their achievements after completing the first-tier online judging.
- Tier I – Applicable to both Award categories (Corporate and Individual).
- Tier II – Applicable only for Corporate categories (and not for Individual categories). The top 2 shortlisted finalists for each Corporate categories will be invited for a virtual presentation. The scores from this session will be consolidated and aggregated with Tier I scores to determine the winner for each category.
Winners for various Individual categories shall be subject only to online judgment (Tier I) and finalists determined.
The GBS Asia Awards are dedicated to recognizing the pinnacle of achievement within the GBS industry. A rigorous selection process ensures only the most outstanding submissions are shortlisted, upholding the program's commitment to excellence. If a category receives no entries meeting these exceptional standards, the award may not be presented, preserving the program's integrity and reserving recognition for truly deserving accomplishments.
- Winner Announcement: To celebrate the very best, the winners of both award categories will be announced at the exclusive GBS Awards Gala Dinner Night and not prior to that. For complete confidence in the GBS Asia Awards' rigorous judging process, all decisions are conclusive and not open to appeal.
- Disqualification: Any breaches to the above may result in disqualification without any explanations provided.
Exclusions
Corporate Awards - Ongoing contracts are eligible for submissions, subject to clear evidence of “commencement of implementation”. Contracts that have just been awarded but yet to be implemented are ineligible.

Following types of services are considered exclusive and out of scope for the stated awards.
- Short term discrete projects/engagements such as sales campaigns, launches, etc.
- Short term Systems Integration engagements
- Staff Placement of non-knowledge workers where vendors only supply human resources to end-users.
- Pre-sales consulting engagements which do not lead to recurring outsourcing contracts. Such consulting engagements are not considered inclusive for any of the award categories.
- Training & Workshop related engagements – should these be a part of a larger services deal they would be considered inclusive, but not engagements where end-users have sought training/workshop services exclusively.
- Hardware procurement, replenishment and installation.
- Procurement, installation and post-sales maintenance of software/products that do not have any service components, excluding enterprise solutions.
